Best Bluetooth Earbud headphones Under $50 for 2019

Top 5 Best Bluetooth Earbuds for 2019 Under $50 that are also

Sweat-proof

If you’re looking for some new Bluetooth earbud style headphones that cost less than $50 and you can wear in the gym or running? Here’s the top 5 I’ve found for the best Bluetooth earbud headphones.  There’s a bunch out there so I only looked at the ones with good reviews that weren’t fake.  There’s a lot of fake reviews so those that didn’t pass the www.fakespot.com test of at least a B were eliminated right away.  These are all the type that are wired in between the earbuds so these aren’t the true wireless style.  I’ll be doing those next so check back soon.

In looking for the best Bluetooth Earbuds I also eliminated any with older technology.  So these will all be at least Bluetooth 4.1 or better.  Bluetooth 4.0 was a big step for this wireless technology making the devices much lower in power consumption.  This was enhanced with 4.1 making the connection smarter with interference and connectivity.  4.2 didn’t add much to headphones, but the new 5.0 makes the connections faster, longer range and can handle more data (not that it helps headphones) You can find more differences here http://majorhifi.com/the-difference-between-bluetooth-3-0-4-0-4-1-4-2-explained/

I could have named this under $40 since that’s the most expensive one at the time of this writing, but will leave the title in case one comes out that is around that price I can just modify this page.  If I’ve missed one that you think should be on this list let me know and I’ll put it through my test against these.  If you’re looking for the true wireless variety check out my Best True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds under $100.

Best Mesh Wireless Networks for Home 2018

5 Best Mesh Wireless (WiFi )

Does your wireless network need a boost?  The new craze in wireless networking is mesh wireless network topology and there’s a pretty good reason why.  They use multiple nodes (wireless devices) that work together to figure out the best path for your device and are smarter then traditional router/access point setups.

So what is a mesh wireless network?

According to Wikipedia a mesh network is local network topology in which the infrastructure nodes (i.e. bridges, switches and other infrastructure devices) connect directly, dynamically and non-hierarchically to as many other nodes as possible and cooperate with one another to efficiently route data from/to clients. This lack of dependency on one node allows

Mesh Wi-Fi Networking

for every node to participate in the relay of information. Mesh networks dynamically self-organize and self-configure, which can reduce installation overhead. The ability to self-configure enables dynamic distribution of workloads, particularly in the event that a few nodes should fail. This in turn contributes to fault-tolerance and reduced maintenance costs. For a full explanation visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesh_networking

I picked the top 5 mesh wireless networks currently in 2018.  These are all packaged and all have additional configurations. I tried to keep these close to the same type of setup for this comparison.  Most have 3 devices in this roundup except for the Netgear since the 2 are a little more powerful then most of the 3’s.  There are also some new options that can turn your current wireless setup to a mesh network with an add-on, but I stayed away from those for now.

Management

All of these have a mobile app that you can manage your network so gone are the days of logging into a web based solution to configure your network.  The big advantage to that is you can login remotely from anywhere you have internet access.  So if you’re out with friends and have a teenager at home not doing what they’re told you can shut down their connection.  Yes I’ve done that before and keeps you in control along with your sanity.  That might sound lazy or cruel to some, but internet access is such a big deal today for these kids that sometimes they need to be disconnected so they can use their brain again.  When it comes to the parental controls part some offer an upgraded version with even more control if the basics don’t meet your needs.

These 5 are not listed in any particular order since they all have different strengths that will differ for your own individual needs/wants.  Mesh wireless networks should improve just about every home and business networks over the traditional type.

Gaming Headphones Comparison CORSAIR HS60 vs HyperX Cloud Stinger

Gaming Headphones

Here’s a quick comparison of these mid-range gaming headphones that we have used with our systems.  These both are multi-platform so if you have more than 1 system they are great.

These have both performed admirably and are lightweight with soft ear cups so gaming for hours is doable.  The Corsair is slightly heavier, but not too noticeable.  If you check out other gaming headphones you’ll notice these are on the lighter side of most so long term use is achievable.

The swivel to mute feature of the HyperX Cloud Stinger worked very well at first, but after around 9 months of use it started to cause some sound distortion.  The Stinger does have a wider range of microphone sensitivity however so should be a little more accurate.  It’s possible we were just too rough with the Mic or used it more than normal.

Top 15″ Laptops in the $600-$700 Range June 2018

Top 15″ Laptops in the $600-$700-ish Range June 2018

Looking for a new 15″ laptop that has good power, but won’t break the bank?  This is kind of the sweet spot for 15″ Laptops in this price range to value in my opinion.  I will be adding more ranges to meet more needs so check back often.  15″ Laptops are not too big and not too small, but are still fairly portable.

Prices will fluctuate with these, but these are the 15″ Laptops I believe are the best in this price range.  I did highlight in green the areas that one system shines over all the others.  Some are too close to call so those areas I did not highlight.

I used to be very critical of the Acer name-brand. I started using them again a couple years ago and have been impressed with the cost/value ratio compared to other brands.  They have been holding up well and have only needed to contact them once about a failed system so far.  Support was responsive and the matter did get resolved even if it wasn’t the best solution that I was looking for.  I’ve been a big fan of Lenovo laptops as well, but they made a huge mistake on several of their models.  The up arrow key was basically in the spot the right shift key would normally be so typing was very frustrating.  They have now resolved that with their newer models so they are back on my radar again.

The Dell and HP line have been solid brands, but usually a little higher priced.  The Inspiron line I used to stay away from cause they were poor quality compared to their Latitude business line.  That has gotten better however so feel those can be looked at again.  I couldn’t find a HP laptop in this price range that would beat or even tie any of these so will be doing another comparison with a higher range next to get one of those in cause they are nice.
